Here's my strategy: Kinsect, pump it full of speed jelly and look to upgrade it along the way. For now focus on cutting type Glaives so you can swap it between them. To get a ton of speed jelly, get to village 3 and 4 and do prowler quests to unlock the jelly farm. It take a while but it's waaaay better than gathering jelly.
